A member asked:

How can you tell if someone chews tobacco? does it leave cuts you can see in their lips?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: They often have stained teeth and a very strong tobacco breath. It doesn't cause sores or cuts of which I am aware, and I have seen a lot of mouths of tobacco chewers, snuff users etc.
