No: Fillings are generally made of composites\resins or amalgams and replace part of the tooth. Crowns are made of any number of metals, ceramics or metal\ceramic combinations and cover the entire tooth surface.

Not at all: No, fillings are placed directly into the tooth. A crown is made outside the mouth, then cemented on the tooth.
