Typically : Typically you cannot put a "filling" on a crown the same way you can a tooth. That being said, it may be possible, though difficult to repair the chip with materials other than what the crown is made of. Consult your dentist....He may refer you of a crown specialist, a prosthodontist.

As : As dr funari explained, it is hard to repair the porcelain. Not that it is impossible, but success depents on where the chip occured. Also, how old is the crown? If it is more than 10 years old, have it evaluated... If the chip occured near the gumline, it could be that the cement has washed out and you have decay in that spot. Hope this info helps.

As : As my colleagues commented, your dentist or prosthodontist might be able to repair the chip depending upon the location and situation. But you have to understand that it will be a temporary/weak restoration that can chip again at the same spot.
