Explain: There are many causes of slow heartbeats ranging from heart diseases to medications to metabolic changes. If it really stopped for 16 seconds, you would faint and the doctors would be all over it. So please repost explaining how you can tell your heart stopped.

If you heart stop : For 16 sec you would loss consciousness because by definition will be cardiac arrest. Is that what happen? Without more information i can't help you. May be what happen was a skip beat or a premature atrial and ventricular contraction. I will recommend a good history and physical for further evaluation by your physician.
