Ketones: Positive urine ketones are common in anyone who is fasting, or on a low carb diet. Sometimes blood ketones are slightly elevated too. Diabetic ketoacidosis is a severe condition, typically in patients with type 1 diabetes who are not taking Insulin or who are sick with other conditions, and you would be quite ill if you had this.

Ketones can be : Concentrated in the urine any time you go for a significant period of time fasting. The concentration depends upon your state of hydration and amount of urine production. This has nothing to do with diabetes and can occur in anyone.
