A member asked:

What can i do to clean my poison ivy off of my car seats?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Detergent soap: You can use a thin solution of laundry detergent to wipe down any areas you suspect are contaminated with the rhus antigen. The detergent will break down the protein makeup of the antigen and render it inactive. The same material can be used to wipe down your seatbelts or other areas that may have been affected. The cover of the seat can be removed and laundered but please do not launder the straps.
