A member asked:

It could be possible that a person have a hole left in heart after bypass sugery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CABG: If you didn't have a hole in your heart before the surgery, you shouldn't have one afterwards. Having said that, if you had a small atrial septal defect through life and had to have CABG surgery late in life, closing the defect might not be appropriate if its not been causing a problem all your life.
