Depends: Sometimes now it is not stopped called off pump, surgery. When stopped with cold blood cardioplegia, many spontaneously restart with rewarming to near normal or normal temperature on the pump. If not spontaneous, then we do electrical defibrillation.

Depends: Either it starts back up by itself after the heart warms up, or electric shock is used to jump start it.
