Good wound care: If a burn is deep enough (third degree) it will scar no matter what. Burns are classified according to the depth of tissue burnt. First degree- epidermis only second degree- dermis superficial second degree is as name implies deep second degree is more dangerous third degree- goes thru dermis and into the fat layer. It is important to do daily dressing changes with topical agents (silvadene).

Scarring from acid: The resultant scar really depends on how deep a burn you sustained from the acid. If its a deep burn (3rd degree), nothing will help prevent scarring. If a blister (2nd degree), scarring is unlikely with good wound care and protection from the sun. If you do have a 3rd degree burn, you can employ scar products in attempts to diminish scarring but there is nothing that will prevent scarring.
