10 min isn't sprint: Consider that the world record for a 2 mile run is just under 8 minutes (7:58.61) 10 min at that pace would get 21/2 miles. A frequently stated number for running is 100 calories/mile but factors like speed, body weight etc. Aren't figured into this. So running a pace of 4 minute miles for 10 minutes would burn far more than 250 calories.
