My doctor prescribed me zopiclone, even when i told him my past abuse of it. it seems to not be as effective. how long should i try it out for?

I don't like to be: Critical, but if you already told your doctor that you abused it before, why would it be prescribed again, and why would you be willing to take it again. I think you should address these issues. Never stop medication without discussing it with your physician. However, there are certainly many other options for insomnia that carry no risk for addiction.

Stop Immediately: Addiction is a very powerful adversary. Our addict brains can find all kinds of reasons to think we do not have a problem or that our addiction has been conquered. Starting up a drug that you were addicted to in the past is quite the sum of evidence of how strong the addict thinking can be. A 16 year old boy does not need to be on sleeping medication. Please stop the meds and perhaps get new dr.
