Vest will not help: Vest clearance system is designed for specific abnormalities of the lung. If you are diagnosed with asthma, the underlying problem is irritation and inflammation of the air ways in the lung. You need to be on medications- not necessarily pills- to control it. Vest will not help in those situations.

No idea: What are the vest clearance system and cough assist machine? In general , asthma involves the airways conducting air to your lungs and it is better treated with a medication to reduce the inflammation and/or dilate the airways. Once you take care of these issues, the cough will likely go away.
