I have severe anxiety and have been put on lyrica (pregabalin) for 2 months now and almost zero improvement. why would any doctor insist on this med?

Anxiety/Lyrica: Lyrica (pregabalin) has been approved for anxiety in europe with pretty impressive outcomes. It's not approved in the us for this indication but it was definitely worth a trial. It may be that the dose of Lyrica (pregabalin) was not strong enough, but perhaps it is just not a right medication for you personally.

Concerned: I'm concerned that you use the word "insist". If that is accurate, perhaps you need to find another doctor or at least have a good conversation to find out what symptoms it was intended to treat. If you have a close friend or relative you trust to come along, it might help you remember the answers or write it down. It is not the 1st choice for anxiety - but particular types of pain. Feel well soon.
