Injury? Potassium?: Sometimes what you describe are referred to as "shin splints" with very sharp pains. They are often related to a lack of stretching or a lack of potassium. If you take a couple of bananas, see if the pain dissipates. If so, maybe you have a potassium deficiency. Otherwise, you should probably see an orthopedic surgeon to exclude a skeletal problem.
