What is the significance of fluid in hip joint on mri? (7 y/o with recent thigh pain)

Depends: All hips have joint fluid 4 lubrication, it becomes a significant finding if as in ur case, it may b increased, along with thigh pain b sure ur cing a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, as this needs a very fast & thorough work up.

What does my mri mean? It says the findings were "Subtle intermediate signal of the anterior superior acetabular labrum may be sequela to prior trauma. no convicing displaced tear. Small hip joint fluid is identified bilaterally."
Mri showed excess fluid in hip joint. Needle aspiration as unable to obtain sample of fluid. Why and what does that mean?
