Sore throat is not a: It is not a common symptom of cancer of the esophagus because, by definition, throat is a part of the pharynx....Esophagus begins further down where the boundary of throat finishes. Sore throat can be more severe on one side but it typically involves both sides especially if it is due to viruses like the cold virus. Radiotherapy on one side of the neck can be the cause of a ones sided sore-throat.
