Outbreaks may involve bacteria (salmonella, shigella, c.Perfringens, c.Botulinum, b.Cereus, v.Parahaemolyticus, campylobacter, staph aureus), virus (norwalk, hepatitis a), chemical (ciguatoxin, scobrotoxin, mushrooms, heavy metals), water contamination (giardia, s.Typhi), others. Watch out for "traveller's diarrhea" (especially etec).
