Mom has had ft dementia for a 3+ years. suddenly had a very slow gait with noticeable fatigue this am. is this a sign that the disease is progressing?

TIA?: Your mother's dementia could be progressing, but sudden changes in her gait and fatigue sound more like a TIA (if it dissipates soon) or other vascular event (if it does not). A doctor need to see & examine her today, to evaluate what's going on with her.

Maybe: But a change for so short a time could represent other issues such as an acute illness. Either monitor for trends or contact her doctors office.
