Get stable first: Thyroid conditions are common. They don't necessarily mean problems during pregnancy if your condition is treated adequately before and during pregnancy. So get diagnosed and treatment and, once stable, feel free to get pregnant.
A 28-year-old member asked:

Should I be concerned if I feel like my heart is skipping beats in pregnancy?

Dr. David Fein
Specializes in Preventive Medicine
Yes: Most pregnant women are exceptionally healthy, and handle a pregnancy without difficulty. But, believe it or not, pregnancy can put a huge amount of stress on a heart over 9 months, so any cardiac symptoms should not be ignored. Skipped beats, extra beats, chest pain, or unexplained shortness of breath should be brought to the attention of your doctor.
