Constipation: Everybody needs to have 1 bowel movement a day, twice is better. Cosntipation: stool become hard, large/stony, hurts during bm. For fear of pain, child doesn't go, worsening constipation. Slimy stool come by side of impaction called soiling. Give more fluid, fiber, vegetable. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) 1 capful in 1 big glass of fluid x2/d x3d, then 1/d. Bowel training: x 4 mo. Fix a time, must go until have a bm.

Constipation: It sounds like your daughter is suffering from constipation. This can be very discomforting. You should encourage your daughter to start drinking more fluids. Water is good. Have her avoid sodas, juices (those are high in sugar contents). Veggies are great. Fruit, too. I would have her retrain her bowels with miralax (polyethylene glycol). Try before bedtime, 1/2 measuring cup at first.
