What symptoms does someone with periodontal disease have?

Periodontal disease: The best and earliest symptom of periodontal disease is one you can see for yourself in a mirror. Look at the little pink triangles of gum tissue that fill the spaces between the teeth. They should be pink, long, narrow and completely fill the space. In early gum disease they start to recede and become shorter and fatter and may disappear completely. Another symptom may be gum bleeding.

Symptoms: The first sign is usually bleeding when brushing or flossing, which can be gingivitis unless left untreated. Bad breath, inflammation, sometimes painful, swollen gums gums pulling away from the tooth, pockets defined by the hygienist or dentist, and in more advanced stages, bone loss, tooth looseness, pus and periodontal abscesses.

Swelling, bleeding: Gingivitis is an initial form of gum desease and can be reversed with proper treatment, most of the time - just good oral hygiene , periodontitis is chronic, irreversible desease, much like diabetes or high blood pressure... Once you develop it... It doesnot go anywhere, it will continue to destroy your gums and underlying bone that holds your teeth, and you will start loosing your teeth....
