Bleeding: Some signs of perio disease include bleeding gums, inflammation, bone loss, recession, pocketing around the tooth (measured in 6 places on each tooth), and in more severe cases, sometimes pus, loose teeth, bad breath, sometimes heavy tartar build up, gums pulling down to expose the roots, painful gums.

Bleeding: In the early stages, there may be no symptoms (maybe just bleeding on brushing/flossing). In the later stages teeth feel loose, they might change position, sometimes bad breath, The only way to catch it in the early stages it for a dentist/hygeinist to measure the space around your teeth by probing.
