Could be depression: Depression brings many symptoms, including crying spells which seem to have little provocation. Also there are sleep disturbance, energy changes, and changes in appetite. Mood is sad & hopeless, and one loses interest in previously enjoyable things. Please see your doctor for an evaluation so you can get help. Depression is real , and it is treatable.

Possible: Crying over things as a sole symptom is not enough to diagnose depression. If you want to try to self diagnose, look up phq-9 on line and try to answer those questions. The instructions how to interpret are included. That's what we offer patents in our office and that helps us guide further on the diagnosis of depression.
