Not unusual : The tongue have a variety of changes based on your personal oral hygiene. The tongue can look white, if you are dry or dehydrated. Sometimes, the taste buds on the back of the tongue can look prominent, but this is not usual. There is lymph tissue in the tongue base and this can change based on your hydration, immune status, and general health. See an ENT for assessment if concerned.

Foods: Sowllen taste buds can be caused by the food that we eat, especially hot and spicy food. They go away quickly. This is normal and nothing to worry about. If it does not go away in a day or two then you should see a dentist oral oral surgeon for an evaluation.
