Sexual misconduct: One national survey of us psychiatrists showed that 7.1% of male and 3.1% of female respondents (overall prevalence = 6.4%) acknowledged sexual contact with their own patients. http://tinyurl.com/nen86pl most (88%) of these occurred between male psychiatrists and female patients; sexual involvement most often happened within 6 months of terminating therapy. Why? Bilateral human failings.
