Yes: The coating is probably from the mucus and medication embedded there. I've seen it in some of my patients and they all did fine.

Probably: The eschar (scabbing) that forms where the tonsils used to be is white in color when wet. It will persist, and may not change much in appearance, over the ensuing few weeks.
