Infection?: You most likely have some type of localized infection such as otitis externa, or perhaps an insect bite. Cellulitis is usually more wide spread. Polychondritis can cause redness and pain, but it is a rare illness, so that seems unlikely. You may need antibiotics, so you should see your doctor.
