"stress" can indeed create symptoms like chest pressure and even pain, rapid, pounding heartbeat, dizziness, nausea, feelings of choking, shallow breathing, etc. These are all physical symptoms of anxiety, which don't have to be accompanied by the emotion of anxiety.
