Menarche: 1st menstrual period starts 2.3 yrs after beginning of puberty. The length of blood flow ranges from 2-7 days. First 2 yrs, ovulation doesn't occur every month, the anovulatory cycles are longer. Average blood loss is 40 ml, with a range of 25 - 70 ml.
Reassure your daughter, it will stop soon as long as there is no other issues, e.g. Family history of bleeding disorder, etc.
