Varies: Young women often don't ovulate consistently in the first 6m to 1 yr. Ovulation adds a natural regulator hormone to the process. Otherwise the cycles are driven by estrogen and irregular cycles occur.15-45 days are common but up to 90 days has occurred in normal girls. When delayed, they are often heavier. In time they settle down into a more traditional pattern.
