Gallstones?: What tests have you had done? How do you know you need gallbladder surgery? Sometimes gallstones will cause upper abdomen discomfort after eating many things. Lettuce salad with oily dressing can cause symptoms. Call your surgeon to discuss your symptoms. Go to er if persistent marked pain or vomiting.

Gallbladder: You are young to be having gallbladder attacks. It would be helpful to have blood tests and an ultrasound to assess your gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver. If you truly have gallbladder disease then there's a good reason to have it removed so you don't risk future gallbladder or bile duct infection. Lettuce isn't a common food group to cause an attack, but fatty foods commonly do.
