Antidepressant effec: In addition to being an anti seizure medication, Lamictal blocks the effects of the neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate in excess concentration can cause or make anxiety and depression worse. By lowering the effect of glutamate, you are experiencing relief from your anxiety and depression.
