?: I am not sure what you are asking. Do you also have a seizure disorder? Both lamotrigine (Lamictal) and topiramate (Topamax) are anticonvulsants and can be used for several different types of seizures. The dose of Lamictal for depression and the dose of Topamax used for migraines are both lower than what is generally used for seizure activity.

Possibly; depends: Those are both used as anticonvulsants. If you are having breakthrough seizure activity at home, the EEG may pick up something, maybe just during sleep. Some docs do a controlled taper for the EEG telemetry of those meds to try to capture a seizure & see if they can identify a focus of origin, but that may be of questionable value if there is a lot of kindling going on.

Explanation: Both Lamictal and Topamax (topiramate) are anti-epileptic drugs, and both could control seizures in an additive fashion. But both have therapeutic ranges, and doses may not be sufficient to control all spells. You doctor obviously feels there may be break-through events that need to be confirmed. The EEG is likely very worthwhile.
