Sickle cell: First, discuss it with your pediatrician or family doctor. Eventually you would benefit by consultation with a hematologist (blood specialist), but that might not be necessary in infancy. As the baby gets older you would have to be vigilant about monitoring for infections and pain episodes. Speak with your doctor to understand what to expect.
