How can a couple with the same genotypes as prevent having kids with genotype ss. what is the cost involved ?

Local issues: Selective embryo manipulation/implantation is a rather costly & involved process. You need to contact a fertility center to see if it is even offered in your region & if so what cost may be. Selective termination would also be an option but gives rise to legal & ethical issues for the personnel involved.
