Can be tested: The fetal DNA can be tested to ascertain if the baby has sickle cell disease. Contact the local medical school at your earliest so that the appropriate diagnostic test may be done. It is not feasible for anyone at this site to advise for or against abortion. That decision should be between you and your doctor, if the baby has sickle cell disease.
