Steroid taper: You are having an operation for prolapse. You have pmr(?). You take steroids for it. Your surgeon may consult endocrine or just give you a steroid taper perioperatively. This will help with the stress of the surgery. It does slow the healing process so he/she may use staples on the skin. After the operation use a multivitamin and ambulate early. Be well.

Probably not: Surgery is not an established causative or aggravating factor for pmr. Besides, you're already on prednisolone, so i hope you will be fine.
