are crib bumpers really unsafe for babies? are the breathable mesh options safer? i'm worried about her getting her hands stuck if i don't use one.

Crib safety: Any bumper is unsafe. You want as little as possible in your child's crib to reduce suffocation hazards. Pillows should also be avoided.
