Vascular: The purple color in scars comes from blood vessels. At 2 years the scar is mature, and less likely to change on its own. Most topical treatments will do nothing, but a trial of topical silicone sheeting may help. Laser treatments can be used to reduce the size and number of blood vessels, or the scar can be excised and closed again. Which does or doesn't apply depends on your physical examination.
