I am a 23 year old male and have had a scar on my left shoulder my whole life from a tb shot as a baby and it healed and was normal/white ever since then. it has suddenly turned red/purple and is a bit swollen out of nowhere. why is this the case?

It may happen at times. You can apply cold pack on that lesion several times a day for 24-48 hours. The inflammation or even infection is usually limited and resolving within a week. Do not pick the lesion. Good luck.
