Tissue destruction: Mucocutaneous leishmaniasis can cause destruction of the tissue and deformities. You should have it treated and not wait to look for tissue damage.

Tissue damage: Mucosal leishmaniasis can occur with untreated or poorly treated cutaneous lesions (or simultaneously with cutaneous lesions). It can lead to nasal congestion and nose bleeds & eventually can destroy tissue of the nose and throat.
