A member asked:

Is there a cure for mucocutaneous leishmaniasis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Leishmaniasis: Antimony, Amphotericin B and cycloguanil are all used for treatment. And can be very toxic. However, since this form of the disease can take months to years incubate a patient often presents with severe disfiguration before treatment is attempted. And while one may be able to eliminate the organism with treatment, the damage it has caused is often not easily "fixed".
