One step at a time: First, get the name of a well respected and compassionate dentist in your area from friends, relatives, coworkers or other health care professionals. Call the office and explain your past experiences. You will get a feeling if that office is right for you. Schedule just a consultation appointment to meet the staff and the dentist and discuss your feelings. Go slowly with treatment at first.
