Hypnosis: Hypnosis can help you in two possible ways. You could use hypnosis to overcome your fear of needles and be able to have injections and/ or use hypnosis for pain management instead of nova cane. It can be used for major operations and dental work.

Dental fear: Many people have a fear of needles. First you need to find someone you can trust and it will take time. Check with friends to see which dentists give shots they can't feel and see if you are comfortable with them. There are offices that will sedate you completely. Others will prescribe something like valium or xanax (alprazolam) until your trust is there. Some use laughing gas, music, to help.

CBT: Seek a cognitive-behavioral therapist who specializes in phobias. One method they use is systematic desensitization which slowly and incrementally brings the person closer and closer to the thing they are afraid of in slow, graduated steps that help make the anxiety more tolerable.
