How do i explain to my daughter what it means to have fluid accumulation in the skin?

Edema/swelling: There can be many causes of fluid accumulation (or edema). Can be caused by infection, inflammation, bug bite, preexisting skin disease, allergic reaction, drug reaction, trauma/injury, surgery, sunburn, poor circulation. Usually the area of edema looks swollen and sometimes tender.
