A member asked:

Can a psychiatrist lie just to make the patient feel better?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

POOR IDEA: Psychiatrists are people and people can lie. But the question suggests something that worries you. If you're in therapy and you fear your therapist lied, take it up with your therapist. The origin may lie in your past. But if your therpist actually did lie he should be wise and honorable enough to say so and correct it. Or maybe you misinterpreted what was said.
