Facial Fat: Removing facial fat can be tricky. It can lead to asymmetries, dimples and irregularities. It should be done only in absolutely necessary situations and by someone who has a lot of experience it doing it.

Depends on location: Traditionally this is removed with liposuction or direct excision but it really depends on the location. The buccal fat or lower eyelid fatty deposits are typically excised under direct visualization whereas neck/jowl/nasolabial mounds may be treated with liposuction or microcannular lipectomy. On other occasions, lifting, repositioning or fat grafting may be used to restore a youthful appearance.

In most cases,: You want to preserve facial fat - because we tend to lose it over time, and if you take it out now, it can accelerate the appearance of aging later. During facelifts, we try to keep it and reposition it to the best location. Other than liposuction of the neck, it would be rare for me to recommend liposuction of the face itself.
