1st step is : Realizing it is irrational so congratulations 4 realizing it and asking for herlp. Take the next step and call a therapist to discuss your fear and ways to overcome it. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one possible way more insight oriented therapy is another. Let us know how it goes, good luck!

CBT: Seek a cognitive-behavioral therapist who specializes in phobias. One method they use is systematic desensitization which slowly and incrementally brings the person closer and closer to the thing they are afraid of in slow, graduated steps that help make the anxiety more tolerable.
