Does bpd mean the same as having an obsession with someone?

Dr. Marc Katz answered

Not Necessarily BPD: Borderline personality disorder is characterized by symptoms that include a history of instability in relationships. It typically has to do with issues related to early attachment. Merely being obsessed with someone would not meet the criteria for bpd. If this obsession continues to cause you significant distress, i would encourage you to seek support through the services of a good therapist.
