Why Be A Gawker????: Most people (including professionals) consider any obsession that isn't directed constructively (like art or some goal-oriented work, etc) as in the realm of escape or projection or some other non-constructive and potentially harmful proclivity. It makes them wonder what's the underlying motivation that you may not be able to recognize yourself.Just be honest with yourself What do you really value?

Its not unhealthy: to admire a celebrity, unless of course doing so interferes with work, school, family relationships or relationships with peers. For it to rise to the level of pathology, from a psychiatric point of view it has to interfere with normalcy for a period of at least 6 months. (On the other hand if your admiration is directed towards a certain behavioral neurologist on Healthtap its perfectly normal.)
